I met Seth when we were both working the Edinburgh Festival in 1997 - he was singing and playing guitar, and I was doing some very uneven street portraits. We spent quite a bit of time together that August, and he sat for a number of these quick portraits, much better than anything I was able to paint out in the city, with everyone staring atme.
