Leunig's
Oil on Canvas, 22" x 11"
August, 1999
A summer view of Leunig's Bistro, a tony little restaurant in Burlington's downtown district. The diners are all painted from life, but borrowed (sometimes in pieces) from a succession of late-afternoon sittings.
Note that the cloth umbrellas in most upscale outdoor cafes seem to come from the same manufacturer, compare the identical tan ones in the painting of the Café Steinhof.
